Prince Franklin, 20, of Marrero was convicted of second-degree murder for shooting Deena Wilty, 36, whom he accused of robbing him of more than $1,000 two months before. Chris Cox, along with Ken Bordelon, served as prosecutor presenting jurors with two witnesses to the shooting. With the jury deliberating for less than an hour and convicting Franklin on an 11-1 vote, he was sentenced to a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
