Man convicted after sex chat

By Joe Darby

David Thurston, 24, was convicted by a Jefferson Parish jury and faces up to 50 years for the attempted aggravated rape and 10 years for the pornography possession, according to Jefferson Parish Prosecutor Chris Cox. Thurston thought he was corresponding online with a Wyoming woman who was offering sex with her daughter, but a male law enforcement officer met Thurston at Louis Armstrong International Airport instead. Cox said that Thurston had pending charges of child pornography in St. Bernard Parish.
